Hello, Im Barbara, let me tell you a little about myself. I now live outside of Baton Rouge, La., but am originally from Linden, Texas. I am the youngest child of Bryce and Treby Carter, with 4 brothers and 4 sisters. I have one beautiful daughter. I grew up listening to all kinds of music especially country and blues. As a child my family would sit under the big oak tree and sing for hours. My brother and uncles would play guitars and the rest of us would sing lead or harmony. As a teenager I joined a band in Shreveport, La. and we played different night clubs every weekend and on a local radio station. I was in a gospel singing group that traveled to different churches. I have spent most of my adult years singing at funerals, weddings, and various clubs around Linden. My inspiration came from various artists such as Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Dolly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Janis Joplin, BB King, and Percy Sledge, as well as many others. My hobbies include the internet, making new friends, reading, dancing, crafts, plants, and generally having a good time. If I was asked to tell you one of the most important things about myself it would be this: I love to sing, and when I sing, my goal is make you the listener feel emotions. If its a sad song, I want you to feel some sadness, if its a happy song, I want you to feel happiness. If my song brings to your mind a memory that warms your heart, then I have achieved my goal, if my voice touches you emotionally, then my dreams are fullfilled.

One late summer evening in 1994, a man with a vision sat behind a primitive beatbox in his basement and contemplated the state of hip hop. At the time, the music was entertaining at best, but as an artist, he did not feel impacted. As he catalogued through the factory pre-set, synthesized sounds, his mind grasped for ways to turn these mundane sound bytes into something that would set new standards in his craft. He struggled for a way to leave a more profound impression on fans of our culture. He began to envision Hip-Hop as war in parallel with his life - his standard vs. industry standard, poverty vs. wealth, love vs. hate. He reviewed his life of turmoil, pain and betrayal balanced joy and triumph and suddenly, it all began to pour from his heart, through his hands and into the beat machine. Unconsciously, a new sound had been created – The Gutter was born. The chaos and frustration had been refined into music. Finally, an artist had armed himself with the weapon of true expression, changing himself from vulnerable to invincible with every 4 minutes or so of passionate instrumentation. Alas, he descended the stairs to his basement a man with a vision – and emerged MAN@ARMZ.

His recordings that began in 1980, with his first album,started his long journey of musical adventures that took place when he lived in Sarasota, Florida. The John Prestia Group received many favorable reviews, local television spots and substantial regional airplay in Southwest Florida. There he managed to put out another record, went into the cassette age kicking, and put out three CDs before moving to Nashville in 1997.In that time besides playing clubs and shows throughout southwest-central Florida for three hundred nights a year, he managed to co-write a song with one of his favorite guitar players, Dickey Betts. The song "No One To Run With" went on to become a hit single for the Allman Brothers Band. Currently touring with Tim Mcgraw, Prestia found time to release his 4th CD Truetone.John Prestias new CD "Truetone" is long overdue according to all JP fans around the country. Albert took a liking to Chicago Bob and his band and ended up using them as his regular opening act or the last few years of his life. This opened a lot of doors for Chicago Bob and he was invited to become the house band for The House of Blues at thier Myrtle Beach, SC location. Chicago Bob spent 4 years at the House of Blues and parlayed his experiences and the people he met through that job to put together two albums. From the 80s Classic METAL MONSTER AOR ARENA ROCK Out of California LYNZEE was formed by Guitarist Vocalist Songwriter Producer Richard Lindsey in 1986. After working with the band DC Sparks and leaving local metal band Raging Saint Richard started LYNZEE. The original line-up was Richard, Jeff Fedak, Joey Velasco, Mike VanDenburg & Kelly Wilde, this line-up did not last so the search continued. The first to join the line-up was guitar wizard Patrick Park in 1987. Followed by Bass monster Damian Pampena whose slap, funk and Iron Maiden influences brought a unique perspective to the band. LYNZEE suffered one problem "Spinal Tap Disease" YES constantly exploding drummers! First there was Joey Velasco, followed by Greg Jackson (a John Bonham specialist who Richard worked with in the band DC Sparks) after Greg came a long list of drummers whose names are long forgotten (the green globuals remain). Greg returned to the band once again in 1988 and production began on their first release. These sessions took the form of their first two demos " Lynzee I" & "The Whitefield Sessions". Unfortunately Greg suffered a family setback forcing him to leave the band and unable to finish the recording sessions. The search continued, next(and what was believed to be the final solution) was Technical drum phenom Bill Haertel. Joining the band as a temporary solution LYNZEE finished out their regional tour. Fortunately Bill made the commitment to LYNZEE and the next phase began. This line-up Lynzee seemed on the right track. In 1989 the band again began production on there first EP the self titled debut "Lynzee" working with Producer Jimmy Hoyson at Capitol Studios, The Summa Group (Where Guns & Roses laid down the tracks for Appetite for Destruction) & Chapel Studios (Eurythmics guitarist & songwriter Dave Stuarts home studio). Upon completion the band self released this EP and linked up with producer Charlie Watts. The band then recorded their next EP "Lynzee Front Page Sessions" completing the EP in 1990 and releasing it thru Darknight Entertainment. At this time Bill left the band, leaving some big shoes to fill. Next came Chip Hanna hard working nose to grindstone drum machine! After the completion of Front Page Sessions Lynzee inked a deal with Statue Records working with producer Charlie Watts. The band was not happy with the deal and chose to break away with Watts still producing. With the new line-up Lynzee began production on their own self released album choosing to leave Statue Records. Upon completion of the new album "Man of the People" they inked a deal with Caprice International Records. Bursting onto the Hollywood scene in the 1980s Lynzee hit the Hollywood strip performing at many of the legendary strip and regional nightclubs including Gazzaris on the Sunset strip Doug Westons Troubadour, The World Famous Whisky A GO GO, The Roxy, The China Club, FM Station, The Coconut Teazer, The Country Club, The Waters Club and many others that are now lost to the past as well as performing throughout California. Born and raised on the west side of Atlanta, GA, Gbralta, also know as G2DaDash, faced the challenges of growing up in poverty. Surrounded by drug addicts and violence, he took to the streets at the age of 13. He dealt in drugs and serve on blocks from Cascade to MLK. Throughout it all, he had a gift, a gift with words, that many around him saw to be magical. His father, now a drug addict himself, played in a band in his younger days. He passed that gift off to his only son. After years of ups and downs, GBralta left the streets at 16 to get his education. He realized there was nothing more out there for him, after a deal that went trerribly wrong and he landed in the hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg, and following his release in a Juvenile Lockdown facility. Through it all, he maintained his gift for music and words, sitting in his cell writting daily. 4 months later, he was back, but with a new outlook on what he had to do, not only for the people around him, but for himself. After working a steady job, he left and joined the Navy at 18. Now, hes in San Diego, CA. He found an outlet for his music there in some fo his co-workers. They held freestyle "syphers" just about every night when everyone was off and had free time. That increased his skill, and he decided to take his work to wax. But, the Navy didnt pay much, so he had to find out how to do his music on his own. He purchased a Laptop Computer and all of the software he could that would prople him along his way to a clearer mind and music to show for it. To this day, he has colaberated with EZ-Bo, Yung Biggs, Lil Ed Esquire, Do-it-all, and the Late J-Deuce in over 100 songs. All of which are written, produced, mastered and arranged by himself.

Nypan/Klingen sextet plays music written by Øyvind Nypan & Mari Klingen. Nypan provides most of the melodies and arrangements while Klingen comes up with the lyrics. The two leaders have known each other for some years, but this is the first time they work together as a unit. After playing different styles and experimenting with modern music, they both started to take a look back and knew they wanted to do more standard material, but with their own tunes and in their own way. The music is still in the american jazz-tradition, but it also includes the european approach to the music. This is the result of this. 21 Year old Steve Zori is a singer/songwriter/producer originally from Ohio now relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His sound is remeniscent of R&B hit sensation Brian McKnight and R&B/Pop sensation Usher. Zori sings with an amazing vocal range and flawless harmonies. Much of what he sings about are reflections of past relationships or declarations of love. His songwriting process, though, does not start with writing lyrics. Fran’s Mantra Biography Several years ago, two like-minded songwriters from New England, Universo Pereira and Sofrin McCabe, came together with a common vision: to form an in-your-face modern rock band with a classic timelessness. The first order of business was to write the songs. In order to focus on their craft and be free of distraction, Universo and McCabe moved away from home to Phoenix, Arizona. After two grueling years, they had created a catalog of songs, honed their professional relationship and built a rock-solid friendship. Next they were ready to find their band mates to complete the line-up. After choosing Nashville to be their base of operations, they moved to Music City and began their search. Writing all the while, Universo and McCabe spent the next two years combing ads, databases and bulletin boards. They finally found their men in a couple of touring musicians who were looking for something real they could believe in and put their hearts into: Tige Bucchino, a drummer from Texas, and Doc Singles, a bassist from North Carolina. After its completion, this tight knit group of friends moved into a house/studio together in downtown Nashville where they continue to write and record songs. One song from their Wonderwall sessions, “Arabia Isn’t Far Enough”, which was written in response to the attacks of 9/11, made regular rotation in 2002 on the FNX RADIO NETWORK in Boston and its six affiliate stations across New England and the internet. A year later, “It Won’t Kill Me”, the first track on their Ashwood Avenue CD, is now getting the same treatment and has been in rotation since June 2003. Fran’s Mantra has just finished their third recording titled “Sara EP”, and their DVD video single, “Timing’s Everything” is being aired in Tennessee on the popular video show - THE SOUND ROOM. The band has also just finished shooting a third video titled “Dissonant Chords” which will premier in October along with a Spotlight Interview courtesy of producer, Thomas Melton. Fran’s Mantra also performs a weekly Unplugged Acoustic show on Monday nights at the Corner Pub in Green Hills and Tuesday nights at Mafiaoza’s in Nashville. After obtaining a speculation deal at LYX Studio in Worcester, Massachusetts, Sofrin McCabe’s group disbanded. In order to utilize the studio time left to him, McCabe began looking for singers and writers, and that’s when he met Universo. Together they wrote and recorded 3 songs engineered by Fran Flannery, a seasoned professional whose list of credits includes Aerosmith and Creed, to name a few. Fran was impressed with their songwriting skills and offered this advice: “this partnership was meant to be. You guys should stick together because you don’t write songs like this by accident.”

An instant bond developed between the two young musicians and, by 2000, the current line up (consisting of Berezansky on lead vocals and guitar, Regan on guitar and 2nd vocals, Todd Raupp on bass and Justin Hetrick on drums) took final shape and they have not looked back since. Dispensing a uniquely accessible blend of alternative hard rock and deliberate song craft (comparisons have been made to Chevelle, Incubus, Quicksand, Cold, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots), this hard-working, hard-hitting, hard-as-nails four piece is a music force to be reckoned with, amassing more stellar accomplishments in their short time together than other bands have in twice as much time. Christa was originally introduced to international rhythms and sounds through the artists she listened to - synthesists like Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, Sting, and Enya.  When she began recording, those influences started showing up in the exotic instrumentation and polyrhythms that she wrapped around her singing.  In 1995, the death of her father, a popular Canadian television personality, became the catalyst for starting her music career. “‘Carpe Diem’ suddenly became very real,” she said. “I was reminded that nobody is guaranteed a ‘tomorrow’, but I did have a ‘today’, so that’s where I started.”   Drawing from the well of her post-graduate studies in music, her interest in other cultures, and years of directing children’s choirs, college students, and black gospel choir at her home church in Edmonton, Alberta, Child of God Music was born. Since the release of her first album Child of God, Christa has performed across western and maritime Canada, in and around Texas, parts of the US, and in Liberia, West Africa.  Christa was invited to open for Burlap to Cashmere at Six Flags over Texas, and has shared the stage with Steve Delopoulos, and with Dove Award winning Nichole Nordeman.  Today she can be heard on Christian radio across Canada, into the U.S., Puerto Rico, Spain, and in West Africa. In 2000, Christa was nominated for Best Religious/Gospel/Christian Artist by the Alberta Recording Industry Association.  In 2001, “Living In Colour” won a coveted spot as a Contest Finalist in the UNISONG International Song Contest.  That same year, “Masterpiece”, a song yet to be officially released, was voted Best Song by the National Association of Christian Artists and Songwriters, and was nominated for “Pop Recorded Song of the Year” by the Canadian Gospel Music Association. My most influential band is probably Pink Floyd ;-). I try to create music as complex and dimensional like theirs, but do not want to cover them or sound too in-line with them, which also would be only a kind of copy. Music to me is all about fascination. So, when I listen to music, it puts me into a certain state of mind, hence I try to create music that gives me the same as that of Pink Floyd, although I admit sometimes "simpler" music does it as well and I come up with something completely different. Daniel Davies is a long time performer, studio musician and writer and singer of commercial jingles who was born in Hamilton but grew up in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Alan started playing the guitar at an early age. With a natural feel for rhythm, melody and harmony he excelled rapidly. Stone Ground Kelly was the first of his north Mississippi ventures quickly making them a hit here locally and then going on to his next band. Years after starting the group SGK are still together and playing to a hungry audience. Blind Alley was his next venture. This was a three member group that allowed Kenneth to express himself in the spotlight, which was impossible in the 6 member SGK. He began to write original music and to sing. This band was and always will be the authors favorite group that Kenneth had started. Alas the newness had worn off and Kenneth was off for another project called Twin Soul Tribe. This group, however was a money machine, covers only and the quintessential bar band. This was a low point in Kenneth’s career and it happened to be the most profitable part as well. It seems that people just wanted to hear mustang sally and I heard it through the grape vine, and not Kenneth’s Powerful originals about life, the loss of a mother, and general love/hate of the world around him. This was, and is devastating to an artist of my brothers caliber. Yes I am his brother and one of his biggest fans. The road has not ended for Kenneth, he is currently looking for musicians and is to start a new group soon...he had better, his originals are too good to be left on a CD collecting dust...sonny

T.U.O. does not rap because it’s the latest trend or simply to make six figures, which is evident through his music. T.U.O. and his affiliates have captured the attention of many with their unique sound. These rising stars undoubtedly have the skills necessary to take the music industry by storm. A unique feature that sets T.U.O. apart from all the rest is his versatility that will attract the rap community as well as the mainstream pop industry. T.U.O. has been around music all his life. At the tender age of five, he would captivate large audiences during his father’s concerts, as he sang with his father and his band. On special occasions, he always made sure that his presence was known through musical performances captured on videotape. In the early 90’s, T.U.O. was introduced to rap music. He had always enjoyed poetry, so he simply turned his poems into rhymes. On his eighth birthday, T.U.O. was surprised with a toy microphone called a “Rap Mike” that he never wanted put down. Among his favourite toys was also a stereo that could record his voice. As a shock to many, he recorded his first song at nine years of age entitled “The Dan Man.” His love for rap continued to grow and in 1999, T.U.O., his older brother, and a close friend recorded formed a group called “The Empire” and recorded several popular songs. His brother was drawn more to “underground” rap music and decided to pursue a career geared towards that genre. As a result “The Empire” became a rap duo consisting of T.U.O. & Rikosha (a close friend). Soon after, the group name was modified to “Infantry.” To the delight of many, they performed in several local shows as people craved more information about this talented new rap duo. Currently, T.U.O. is focused on pursuing a solo career, however he and Rikosha are still members of “Infantry” and plan to continue to release joint projects in the near future. The talented T.U.O. is continuously requested to perform at various venues in Toronto, London, Kitchener-Waterloo and most notably, the United States. Similarly, he has had his songs features on several mix tapes. Although T.U.O. continues to perform at shows throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas, he is currently focused on establishing a record deal and making a video so that his music can reach more people. T.U.O. plans to release a single/EP in 2004.

365 Days To Go was formed during Christmas break of 2002. Originally a four piece without a singer, the band consisted of Alex Tamayo on lead guitar, John Nash on Rhythm Guitar. Matt Easley was the drummer and Enrique Montes was on bass. After one practice, Steve Ming was suggested to be the singer. He was contacted and agreed shortly after. With Steve in the band, practices began and the first song mastered and recorded was a cover of Alien by Pennywise. Later the band recorded a rough version of MorningStar by AFI. The band began to have trouble finding sufficient practice time for everyone. The band was able to write one more original song and record it before they stopped playing. The members dispersed to other bands, including Divided Reign, and another more classic rock band in which Matt was the drummer.

Recently John, Alex and Steve have decided to restart the band, this time with Steve playing drums. The band is asking bassist Milo Diaz to join. Because both John and Alex are attending college away from Santa Paula, this band is going to practice primarily during breaks with tapes of possible riffs to be sent to other members for practice.
